When Chris Schmoke moved to Nashville John was asked to play bass in the band Kareeta. That led to John asking Brett to form a trio with John on bass. Brett said drummer Jordan Lipp would be perfect for the project and he was right. The psychedelic space rock sound of Dead Space Revival has flavors of the Grass for sure, yet explores new territory. The Grass trio hasn't played together since 2019 and are excited to get out and play some classic Grass tunes for you all. Special guests are planned so make sure to head out to this special event.
And as always it's All Ages and Free!!
With Chris Schmoke back from Tennessee for just a weekend we get only one gig with the whole Grass together. The day starts with Lightening Dan & The Crawdads playing Grateful Dead from noon til 2, Sol Soiree getting groovy from 2 til 3:30 and The Grass headlining the evening from 3:30 til 6. It's going to be a whole lotta fun in the sun!
Chris Schmoke is back in town for the holiday weekend and we have a boys only show with guest Austin Bach joining us on keys. Come out for some seriously sweet jams and good vibes for all.
Our last scheduled gig for an unknown amount of time, we celebrate John's (20th) and Rich's birthdays (21st). Come on out and celebrate these two awesome guys and get your Grass fix to hold you over for a while!
An awesome summertime lineup with the Grass playing 1 to 4 pm and then Groovesession from 5 to 8 pm. On the beach, free for all ages. What more could you want?
Head on out for an afternoon of two sets of music from noon til 3ish. We will be playing our 3rd and 4th sets of a no repeat weekend.
The Grass will be playing two sets from 6-9 pm. Come on out for some great food and beer! We will be playing a "no repeat" weekend with our next show on Sunday the 22nd at Hangar 24 Irvine.

The Biergarten at Old World , 7561 Center Street, Huntington Beach, CA 92647
Our first jaunt to the Old World's Biergarten, which has a great outdoor stage and set up. We'll be starting the weekend off right with two huge Grass sets. Come on out and step back into the good ol' days!
We are loving our shows at Hangar 24! The space is so very cool, it's hard to believe that the courtyard / beer garden of an industrial plaza in Irvine could feel like such an escape? Outdoors is a great way to play live music, it feels free. Come on out and share in some vibes. The beer is great and the food is surprisingly good. I've sat and spent time thinking about their hot chicken sandwich.
Mugs Away Saloon, 27324 Camino Capistrano STE 101, , Laguna Niguel, CA 92677

Three great bands converge on the beach for a day of outdoor enjoyment. Lightning Dan starts the day off at 11, Grass at 1:30, and Simpkin Project closes the night from 4 to 5:30. It's free and obviously all ages.
The Grass return for a mid week romp at your favorite biker bar in the canyons.
Come spend an evening with the Grass on the Grass. This outdoor show is free and all ages welcome. Grab some food and drinks at the brewery and get groovy with your Grampa.
This groovy set up in a massive backyard boasts plenty of room for people to spread out, be safe, and enjoy the music. Grass starts the day with two sets followed by Lightning Dan & The Crawdads dropping two sets of Dead tunes for ya.
Our first full band live webcast from our very own LazyDog Studios will celebrate both John (20th) and Rich's (21st) birthdays. We'll play one long set full of music including a brand new original, a new cover, and a recorded songs first "live" performance. Hope you can tune in!
We at Grampas Grass take Covid-19 and social distancing very seriously. We're working with The Mixx in Pasadena to have a trial run at a live show in an indoor venue. For us, it has a huge stage that is raised at least 3 feet off the dance floor and set back multiple feet as well. We can give each other plenty of room and be distanced from the audience. The room is huge with extremely high ceilings and great ventilation, it has a 300 person capacity! There is plenty of space for small groups, this place is huge and is the only reason we are feeling comfortable trying it out. Wear masks when moving around, take them off when you sit with your people. If you don't like masks, please wear one anyway while you move to your spot, then take it off while you eat and drink. Can we have live music again, have everyone feel safe, and be safe together? I think we can and I think it's going to feel pretty magical! There is no cover for this event.
